How are you celebrating your new hires?

They’re the life force, they’re the DNA of your work, and if you have employees, if you have a staff that works for you, if you manage people, take care of them.

I’ve got a new hire today, and I’m sending out a goodie box for them: gift cards, some clothes, some good books, some required reads for the company, but it’s just a thank you. In this workforce, you want A+ talent to work for you: take care of them, tell them you appreciate them, show them you appreciate them.

And don’t just do it on the day when they start and send them a good gift box, and don’t do it at a Christmas party at the end of the year; make employee appreciation part of your DNA and part of your culture on a daily basis.

Show them you appreciate them, find out little ways that you can celebrate them, acknowledge their wins, and appreciate that they could be working anywhere, but they’re working for you.
