Man, anybody can do something when they want to do it, but really successful people do things when they don’t want to do it.
So I want to talk about that for a minute. That was me this morning. As you can see, I’m headed back from the gym. I had a workout with my personal trainer this morning, and man, I did not want to go. I was up all night tossing and turning, have no idea why. Couldn’t sleep, maybe got a couple hours of sleep all together last night.
And at 3:00 AM, I’m sitting there laying in bed, contemplating on texting my trainer, telling him I’m not coming, then again at 5:00 AM. And I’m laying there for hours coming up with excuses on why I wasn’t going to be at the gym and what I was going to say. And honestly, I caught myself doing it and I said,
“Self, knock that shit off.”
And what I did is I came up with one reason why I should go.
For hours I was contemplating all the reasons why I shouldn’t, and I came up with one reason why I should go. And I did. And I feel amazing. I feel fantastic right now. I’m so glad that I went.
They don’t call it a fun out, they call it a workout for a reason. It’s not always going to be fun, but pushing yourself to those new boundaries when you don’t want to do stuff, that’s when you grow.
The saying is, “You got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” So I hope you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation today so you can grow. Hope you have a Fulking awesome day.
